Blood Glucose level and blood pressure screening in regular Moringa consumers.
The collection of data on blood pressure and blood glucose levels offers critical insights into the overall health profile of a community. These measurements serve as key indicators for identifying potential health risks and promoting early detection of conditions such as hypertension and diabetes. Moreover, routine screenings raise awareness of the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, as many individuals may be unaware of their health risks without regular monitoring.
Objective:
- Evaluate the random blood glucose level and blood pressure in community people who consume moringa on a regular basis.
- To track the changes in random blood glucose level and blood pressure in community people.
Materials used:
- Stadiometer
- Weighing Scale
- Automatic wrist blood pressure cuff
- Glucometer
Methodology
Phase 1: Height and weight measurement
- All the participants had their height and weight measured along with preliminary details about them.
- Participants who had previously taken part in the study only had their weight measured, in the 1st phase.
Phase 2: Blood pressure measurement
- The participants then lined up to have their blood pressure measured using an automatic wrist blood pressure cuff.
- The participants were curious and were cooperative during the process.
Phase 3: Random blood glucose estimation
- Right after the blood pressure estimation, the participants were directed to random blood glucose level estimation using glucometer.
After every step the details were noted down in the participants sheet and at the end, finally into the common sheet.
Outcome:
- Estimation of BP and random blood glucose level of participants.
- A proper and reliable data was collected of community members that consume moringa on a regular basis.
- Awareness of the community’s health situation.
- The community members became aware about their health situation.
Observation:
- Most of the participants had a normal Blood pressure range for their age, however there were participants that had increased BP for their age.
- The Blood glucose level in the community was mostly normal in the majority of the participants
